We are delighted to announce that we were shortlisted for the Good Retail Awards 2021, in their Sustainability Initiative Award category, which took place this February. Shortlisted alongside six other wonderful brands, we were incredibly touched to be considered.
The Sustainability Initiative Award sets out to find retailers who have successfully implemented sustainability initiatives within their business. Areas highlighted for us being considered for the award included our Made to Order business model, alongside our Zero Waste Fabric Projects.
Judge Catherine Erly, Founder of the Resilient Retail Club noted: "Great to see a size-inclusive sustainable brand". Size inclusivity is something that we have been able to grow over the past 12 months - having increased our offering from five sizes to nine: XS - 5XL.
When considering our goals for 2020, we realised the importance for us to not only be more inclusive, but to ensure that when we did we weren't creating additional waste. The change in business model to Made to Order has enabled us to do exactly that. We now only create the garments once ordered and therefore it limits the potential waste created from excess stock.
We are still an incredibly small business and so it is a huge feat for our team of six to be recognised and considered for this award alongside these other amazing businesses.
Thank you so much to Good Retail Awards and also congratulations to Harts of Stur, the winners of our category!
